This recipe is just the best! I have yet to come across something better! Mango and Sherbet ask Granny to help them make this play dough on rainy days, to keep them busy!

What You’ll Need:                              

2 Cups Cake Flour

2 Cups Water

1/2 Cup Salt

1 Tablespoon Cooking Oil

3 Teaspoons Cream of Tartar

Food Colouring (Pick your favourite colour)

Non Stick Cooking Spray

How to make it:

Mix all the ingredients together until there are no lumps.

Add as much or as little food colouring as you like to mix the colour you desire.

Spray a pot with non stick cooking spray and then scrape the mixture into the pot.

Cook on a low heat for about an hour.

Once play dough is darker in colour, firm on the top (doesn’t smudge / smoosh when you stick your finger into it),  and is bouncy, (springs up and down when you poke it) its ready to come out of the pot!

Using an egg lifter or a big spoon, lift the play dough out of the pot and put onto a plate to cool. (Be careful not to burn on any escaping steam that may rise  from the pot whilst lifting out the play dough!!)

Let it cool for five minutes, then while still warm, put the dough into an electric mixer and knead the dough until elastic and smooth. (If you don’t have an electric mixer, you can use your hands to knead the dough, when it has cooled considerably)

NOTE: The warmer the dough is when you mix it the more smooth it will be after mixing. Always store your dough in an air tight container. This dough can stay out of the fridge in a cool place for up to six months!!
